G540 HOME PAGE

Definition of unkillable: unbreakable, permanent, enduring.

The G540 is a complete 4-axis system which plugs directly into your computer via the parallel port and to your motors through DB9 connectors. It contains four G250 drives, and an optoisolated spindle-controlling hi-tech breakout board all in a hard anodized aluminum case. It makes the G250s into the equivlent (within its 50Volt/3.5Amp envelope) of four "Junior" unkillable G203V drives.

      G540 Specifications:
      - Four 10-Microstep motor drives        - 0 to 3.5A rated phase current           - 18VDC to 50VDC supply voltage
      - Mid-band resonance compensation      - Auto standby current (70% current)       - Short-circuit protected
      - Optoisolation on all LPT signal pins         - Two 1A at 0 to 50VDC rated outputs       - Four SPST to GND inputs (TTL)
      - FAULT indicator LED,signal to PC        - POWER indicator LED                           - I-SET resistor on motor connector
      - TRIM adjust for motor smoothness        - Panel mount (5.7” by2.4” hole dim.)        - Anodized aluminum package
      - No heatsink needed below 40C ambient  - Easy to service, removable drives         - Modular PCB design with no internal wires
              - 10kHz watchdog timer (charge pump)          - Optoisolated analog output for a VFD drive
- Conservative ratings, premium components

The G540 is limited to 50V and 3.5A. This does not mean that it CANNOT run larger motors--just that this will limit the performance of larger motors.

A motor that draws  over 3.5A will have its torque detuned. A motor that needs more than the 50V will detune from top speed.

Keling 1200s:

KL34H2120-60-4A:
78V 6A. = fairly fast speed & detuned 700oz torque with G540. Could be geared down 0.6 :1 to increase torque back to 1200 oz.

KL34H2120-42-8A:
PARALLEL: 82V 6A = Medium speed, 700oz torque.
SERIES: 163V 3A = Very slow speed, 1200 oz torque.

Keling 906:

KL34H-295-43-8A:
Parallel: 58V, 6.1A = Fast speed, detunes to 522oz torque.
Series: 116V, 3.1A = Slow speed, 906 oz torque.

Keling 640:

KL34H280-45-8A
Parallel: 48V, 6.3A = Very fast speed, detunes to 356 oz torque.
Series: 95V 3.2A = Slow speed, 640 oz torque.
